Who We Are

Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through year-round adaptive sports and recreation programs. Based in western Maine, Maine Adaptive provides inclusive opportunities for individuals of all abilities to experience the physical, social, and emotional benefits of outdoor recreation. Programs include alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, paddling, cycling, hiking, and more. At the heart of Maine Adaptive is a strong community of trained volunteers, instructors, and supporters who work together to create a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment. Whether someone is trying a sport for the first time or building lifelong skills, participants are encouraged to challenge themselves, gain confidence, and have fun. Maine Adaptive believes that everyone deserves access to recreation, regardless of ability, and is committed to removing barriers so that all individuals can thrive.
