We will also connect with Volunteer Coordinators at each of our 20 programs to see how we can assist them, and to help them learn how to record their volunteer hours for their volunteers or come up with efficiencies to help with onboarding and orientation paperwork, efiling, or capturing the information in the most efficient way. Our Volunteer Services program was rated one of the highest rated program by the Council of Accreditation in 2025 - so we will be a great program to learn from if you are interested in Volunteer Management. Volunteer: Put Children First Golf Tournament Fundraiser - 9/21/26 - Falmouth, MEPlease help us at our "Put Children First' fundraiser on Monday, Sept. 21st, 2026. Forty volunteers needed on fundraising day, to help as refreshment helper, bag valets, hole watcher, registration check in, raffle ticket sellers, decorating and set up help. We will also have a thank you breakfast & training in Portland, if you are able to make it, the Thursday before 9/17/26. Thank you so much for caring - this will help us fundraise extra scholarship funds for parents and families who cannot afford childcare, while they are at work, out sick, or at school to learn trade/skills. It is so very helpful to our daycare families and will help them with their essential needs for childcare. When you support our Golf Classic this year, you will be supporting kids in our community in a whole new way. This year, our goal is to raise $75,000 for the Put Children First Scholarship Fund – a fund that supports the cost of childcare for low-income working families. Without this vital program, single parents and struggling families cannot break the cycle of poverty that strains families and may create living conditions that contribute to child neglect and abuse. In Maine, the average annual cost of child care for an infant represents over 70% of a minimum wage, full-time job for a single mother.
