Description

As a White Pine AmeriCorps member, you'll gain expertise in our teaching methodologies, participate in specialized training, and engage with a wide array of community partners like schools, libraries, and land trusts. You'll develop and deliver nature-based lesson plans for children and seniors, adapting to weather and different ages. You'll also contribute to our digital resource database and participate regularly in our all-weather forest school and after school nature clubs. You will help find new areas for community connection and take a leadership role with our community engagement programs. This role includes self-reflection for continuous personal and program improvement, including the opportunity to attend trainings and conferences.

This program will positively impact participants by boosting self-confidence, learning from experienced nature educators, and fostering relationships with our community in outdoor settings. This is an amazing opportunity for people just out of college or switching careers to gain experience and skills needed to thrive in nature education and related fields. As an official AmeriCorps volunteer you will receive a living stipend throughout the program and upon completion of the 900 service hours, a monetary education award to be used for furthering your professional development. This opportunity runs from the beginning of January 2026 to the end of May/beginning of June 2026 and will require in-person service and approximately 40 hours per week.
