Description

Through nature-based programming and outreach, White Pine Programs' AmeriCorps initiative aims to significantly improve the mental well-being of youth and seniors across southern York County and the Seacoast of New Hampshire. White Pine aspires to build personal resilience in our participants and foster healthy relationships with each other and the environment. Our AmeriCorps program helps to strengthen these values and expand our reach within the community. This program will positively impact participants by boosting self-confidence, learning from experienced nature educators, and fostering relationships with our community in outdoor settings. This is an amazing opportunity for people just out of college or switching careers to gain experience and skills needed to thrive in nature education and related fields.

As a White Pine AmeriCorps member, you'll gain expertise in our teaching methodologies, participate in specialized training, and engage with a wide array of community partners like schools, libraries, and land trusts. You'll develop and deliver nature-based lesson plans for children and seniors, adapting to weather and different ages. You'll also contribute to our digital resource database and participate regularly in our all-weather forest school and after school nature clubs. You will help find new areas for community connection and take a leadership role with our community engagement programs. This role includes self-reflection for continuous personal and program improvement, including the opportunity to attend trainings and conferences.
