Who We Are

The Brick Store Museum was founded in 1936 by a single woman named Edith Cleaves Barry, who funded the Museum with her own money to open an institution that emphasized the role of history and art in our community and individual lives. Today, we are a campus of five 19th century buildings that serve nearly 10,000 visitors per year!

What We Do

The Brick Store Museum ignites personal connections to local history, art and cultures through exhibitions, education and programs illustrating the human experience in Kennebunk and the surrounding communities. We are open year-round and deliver over 100 programs and 10 exhibitions annually.
