Who We Are

The Maine MultiCultural Center (MMCC) is a nonprofit organization based in the greater Bangor area dedicated to supporting immigrant and refugee individuals and families as they build new lives in Maine. Founded in 2016, MMCC has grown from a welcoming and cultural awareness initiative into a trusted community resource providing direct support, advocacy, and connections to essential services. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and included in their community. Through our staff, volunteers, and partnerships with local organizations, we help New Mainers overcome barriers, build stability and independence, and contribute their skills, experiences, and cultures to the greater Bangor community.

What We Do

The Maine MultiCultural Center (MMCC) supports immigrant and refugee individuals and families in the greater Bangor area as they build stable, independent lives in Maine. We connect New Mainers with essential resources and services related to housing, food security, employment, education, healthcare, legal assistance, transportation, and community integration. Our staff and trained volunteers provide individualized support, resource navigation, interpretation, advocacy, and practical assistance while partnering with local organizations to address families’ needs.
