Empower a youth in your community on their harm repair journey.
Repair Agreement Support Mentors provide support and accountability to youth by accompanying them as they complete their repair agreement, offering a listening ear, and developing a positive, supportive relationship.
Responsibilities include:
- Attends the Harm Repair Circle and Closing Circle
- Keeps in touch with the youth once per week, for the duration of the repair process (typically 2-3 months)
- Helps the youth keep track of repair agreement goals and breaks them down into achievable steps; connect the youth to relevant resources
- Highlights and encourages the “sparks”—the things that excite, motivate, and inspire the individual youth
- Attends monthly Volunteer Learning Community, as able, for skill-building opportunities
- Empowers the voice, choice, and dignity of the youth
Support Mentors complete our foundational training series, "Foundations of Community-Based Restorative Practices," prior to volunteering.
